Countdown To Zero

Today I write to you, to show you a trailer for a very interesting, very important, very eye opening film. I hope you'll join me in watching it.

--

'We estimate that there are about 23,000 nuclear weapons in the world, and we don't even know where they all are.'

'Iran, North Korea, they are prepared to start trading nuclear weapons technology'

'Potatoes were guarded better'

'A world without nuclear weapons'

'The ultimate number is none'

'No Nuclear Weapons'

'The weapons of war must be abolished, before they abolish us'

Volunteer This Summer

This summer, you might be sitting around bored in a chair infront of your laptop scrolling up and down the homepage of facebook.

Or, you might be taking part in the experiences of your lifetime, you might be helping out other people, you might be doing things that you'd never imagined, you might be volunteering.

There are so many opportunities to volunteer this summer throughout the country, here are some websites that can get you started on your journey.

This site covers volunteering for all ages throughout the country, well worth a look.

16-25? This site is the volunteering site for you, with opportunities throughout the country and especially for your age group, this site is a must for anyone thinking about volunteering this summer.

Another helpful site, aimed at all age groups, search over 1,000,000 opportunities!

I hope that you will take some time this summer to help out your local community, and enrich the lives of others. And remember, volunteering isn't just for others, it makes you feel good too!

Sun, Sea & Sand

With summer coming up, maybe we should take a moment to think about things one can do during the summer months yeah?

1. Get a summer job. This will help provide a little extra income so that you have the money to go to the beach with friends etc

2. Take care of the garden. During the summer the back garden can get a little out of control, you could take it upon yourself to keep the garden tidy, so it's all the more enjoyable when the family has a bbq.

3. Tidy your room. Keeping your room tidy kills time and you get the satisfaction of having a nice tidy room to, well, do whatever you do in it, in.

There are loads of other things to do, hang out with friends, build some sort of tree house, help out your favourite Political Party with Canvassing in local elections, visit a National Trust property.

But whatever you're doing this summer, keep safe in the sun, use sun cream and have fun!

A New Focus

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Unfortunately, I don't have any lemonade, but that's not the point, the point of this, the 20th Post on this blog is to commemorate my change of career path, politics and radio is behind me, and I am moving on to doing something much more exciting, and I think, good for the world.

The course I start in September will put me on a new path, a path that could end up with Greenpeace, The National Trust, or indeed as I am still interested in politics, The Green Party.

In September I start a Wildlife Conservation course, I am extremely excited that I have the chance to do this, and the chance to do more good in the world, I have always been an active campaigner for Greenpeace and Green issues, and this just brings me one step closer to helping keep our planet clean and safe for future generations, and safe for ours.

I will update this blog with stories, experiences and the like along the way, some posts may still contain politics, but for now, I am 're branding' myself, as more of an activist, than a politician.

See you again soon,

Will Litchfield

Live Music

Throughout my years of life I have only seen 3 live bands. And one of them is a bit of a joke really.

I've seen Pendulum which was the most amazing experiencing ever, they really know how to work a crowd.
I've seen Marina & The Diamonds, and she was pretty awesome, although she did a terrible cover of 'Starstrukk' but oh well, you can't win 'em all.
Lastly I saw Chico live at butlins, he had broken his leg and did the whole thing on the stage sitting on a stool. Twat.

But my reason for writing this blog is to really just appreciate how amazing live music is, I mean the atmosphere is half of the experience. Then there is the satisfaction of knowing that your favourite band can actually sing rather than just miming into a microphone, which is always terrible (yeah, I'm talking to you Hannah Montana).

So all in all, have a great week, and get out that live album you haven't listened to in ages and remember what it felt like to be there yeah?

Litchfield.
